Legit! This is the place the lost trinbagonians have been looking for! Had a curried Lamb Roti with Slight. Straight 10/10. Fast and super friendly service

Best dhallpuri roti I've had in Toronto. The neighborhood might be far and not as polished, but I definitely recommend coming here to try out the chicken curry dhallpuri wrap. The hot sauce had this floral and fruity flavour to it and the dhallpuri wraps were soft and fluffy. The man at the counter was also nice. We ate in, so we noticed how friendly he was. We'll definitely come back, I still can't get over how good the curry was. I also recommend getting a ting (grapefruit soda) or a peardrax (pear soda) to drink here.

Classic flavours and a stubborn refusal to change what ain’t broke. One of the last places to get a great double downtown and the roti’s are simple yet so delicious. One favour, please? Bring back the boneless goat.

I noticed an article in a recent TORONTO LIFE magazine: Neighbourhood Crawl: What Kardinal Offishall loves about Queen West on AUGUST 14, 2025. I emailed the article to my wife on AUGUST 15, 2025 and we MADE it to Ali’s Roti on AUGUST 27, 2025. (The) Kardinal Offishall was very cool looking in his photo and we can now vouch for the positivity he shared about Ali’s Roti. It was a bit of a RoadTrip for us. No blazing summer temperature on this particular day. My wife ordered Chicken Curry Roti. She’s not afraid of some heat. Shane was very attentive and wanted to ensure he understood what we thought we wanted! Some heat was added while cooking it up. We both ordered the same meal. We each received small sauces on the side so we could be our best Heat Distribution Agents. Shane told us we’d be happy sharing one roti. How wonderful was that? He was right. My wife and I could have polished off one roti each, but it was unnecessary. Shane said we could order more later if we were still hungry. Loved my roti. Tender chicken. We did ask for a bit more ‘gravy’. Great experience. Happy customers came and went. Shane took my order for two patties afterwards. He challenged me to come back to try their soup. Will do! Bravo, Shane, and Team. Thank you.

From start to finish, our experience at Ali's Roti was absolutely remarkable. I went with my kids (their suggestion because they always crave it - they got lamb dhalpouri roti and chicken stew dhalpouri roti), and we were blown away. You also really can't beat getting a doubles (with chickpeas and tamarind) for $4! So fluffy, so delicious, and so affordable. We were served by Shane, who was patient, friendly, and so great with the kids. His customer service truly stood out and made us feel at home. While we were waiting for our food, we saw another customer walk in and ask to personally thank the chef. She said the daal was better than her own and that it brought her back to childhood memories. Watching that heartfelt moment assured me of how special this place is. When our food arrived, we not only enjoyed every bite, but we also had the chance to connect personally with both Shane and the chef, Dechen. They came out to greet us, and that personal touch meant a lot. To top it off, the kids were treated to free ice cream samples, and we were introduced to their peanut punch—something I wouldn’t have thought to try on my own but am so glad they brought to our attention. It was absolutely delicious! This place is more than just a restaurant—it’s a community experience filled with heart, authenticity, and truly nourishing food. You don’t get that at chain restaurants/in the suburbs. Ali's Roti is unique, memorable, and full of flavour, and we will absolutely be coming back many times in the future.

In the heart of Parkdale (a neighbourhood that is a bit rough around the edges) exists this gem of a restaurant. In my opinion, the best roti at least in the west end. Enormous in size, delicious, lots of meat and you can request extra gravy. You’ll definitely be satisfied after. The staff are great too.
